On June 12, 2024, Tobin Richardson, President and CEO of the Connectivity Standards Alliance (CSA), and his delegation visited the State Radio Monitoring Center Testing Center (SRTC). The purpose of this visit is to explore cooperation opportunities between the two parties in areas such as market promotion and ecosystem construction, in order to jointly promote the development and application of global open standards for the Internet of Things. SRTC Deputy Director Wang Wenjian, Director of the International Certification Department Peng Zhen, and others participated in the exchange.
Deputy Director Wang warmly welcomed Tobin and his delegation and then provided a detailed introduction to SRTC's technical facilities and testing capabilities in the field of wireless communication. Tobin highly appreciated SRTC's contributions to the advancement of wireless technology and industry certification, and shared CSA's successful experience in global open standards cooperation. With 20 years of experience in standards development, CSA's global cooperation model has proven to be the best way to achieve rapid application of new technologies. Tobin also introduced CSA's Matter certification, Aliro project, and Thread technology based on the IPv6 network protocol.
Both parties agreed that there is a huge demand for open IoT technology standards in the Chinese market, especially in the smart home sector. Standardized solutions will greatly promote technology application and market development. SRTC hopes to take this exchange as a starting point to establish closer cooperation with CSA, promoting deeper participation of the laboratory in standards formulation, working group exchanges, and market promotion activities, thereby jointly promoting the innovation and development of IoT technology.
